About us
Director Madeline Monlux has been a gorilla supporter for many years and is planning to follow Dian Fossey's legacy and become a Primatologist working in the Virunga National Park with the Mountain Gorillas.
In 2011, Madeline was invited to New York City to attend a VIP luncheon with the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund where she presented a check to the organization for her fundraising efforts. A special highlight was meeting actress Sigourney Weaver who portrayed Dian Fossey in the 1988 film, "Gorillas in the Mist".
Queen of the Jungle is a benefit pageant for the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund.
The Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund International is dedicated to the conservation and protection of gorillas and their habitats in Africa. We are committed to promoting continued research on the gorillas and their threatened ecosystems and to providing education about their relevance to the world in which we live. In collaboration with government agencies and other international partners, they also provide assistance to local communities through education, health, training and development initiatives.
